Neha Sudhir Salkar from Sashtiwada, Bordem in the Bicholim taluka joined Indian military as a lieutenant on October 19. She is 25. Neha, who was a student of Shri Shantadurga high school, Bicholim, joined the national cadet corps (NCC) when she was a student of class nine, and went on to win a top award. She was later selected for the Republic Day parade at New Delhi in the year 2009. Neha received military training at Belagavi, Benguluru, New Delhi and at other locations in the country where she excelled in her overall performance. In August 2014 she joined the Indian military at the 4th rank. She subsequently signed up for an officers’ training module in Chennai on October 4 of the same year. Her training ended on September 12, 2015. She then took over as a lieutenant in the defense battalion on October 19. Chief minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has congratulated the young lieutenant for her achievement.
